About me
Charissa Bass is the Assistant Director of Empowering Youth and Families Outreach (EYFO), a role she assumed in September 2023. Her connection to EYFO began as a student in its after-school and summer programs, later serving as a volunteer and summer intern.
Charissa holds a B.A. in Psychology with an emphasis in Early Childhood Development from California Lutheran University and a Master’s in Counseling from Seattle Pacific University. Prior to her current role, she worked as an Elementary Counselor for six years in the Franklin Pierce School District, following an earlier career as a Behavioral Interventionist. Her decision to join EYFO was deeply influenced by her desire to be more present for her three children, who now attend EYFO’s Creative Minds Preschool Program. Charissa served as the Program Lead on the partnership between EYFO and SPS’s Summer Learning Programming creating a phenomenal enrichment program that was loved by SPS students, families and staff.
