About me
Megan Smedsrud joined the Greater Tacoma Community Foundation in 2019 as a Senior Impact Officer. In this role she supported the development of a city-wide afterschool program in Tacoma, oversees the Whole Child Portfolio, and is passionate about working at the intersection of philanthropy and community development. Megan spent over a decade as a clinical social worker working with youth and families, launching new public schools in New York and Washington State, and supporting youth-serving interdisciplinary teams at Seattle Children’s Hospital as a Clinical Specialist in Behavioral and Mental Health. Megan also serves as the Co-Chair of the Pierce County Developmental Disabilities Advisory Board and a member of the Tacoma Public Library Foundation Board. When not working in community, Megan enjoys taking part in the Extreme Reader challenge at the Tacoma Public Library, traveling with her partner, and playing with their dog.
