About me
Mutende Katambo has dedicated over a decade to working closely with communities of color, focusing on youth development for the past four years. Currently serving as the Youth and Family Services Manager at Communities of Rooted Brilliance (CRB), Mutende has been pivotal in advancing CRB’s mission. Founded in 2009, CRB is a non-profit organization committed to promoting the self-sufficiency of resettled refugees by facilitating access to essential services and educational opportunities while honoring traditional customs.
CRB’s approach deliberately transcends ethnic, religious, and language barriers to nurture individual capacities and bolster community resilience. Annually, CRB supports more than 500 newly arrived families in South King County, Washington State, through comprehensive programs encompassing educational workshops, social service connections, early learning initiatives, youth programming, employment assistance, and technology training. The organization is distinguished by its professional, multicultural, and multilingual staff, who orchestrate and oversee all program activities, ensuring impactful and culturally responsive service delivery.
